Team Half Animal: Motivational Crew Ready to Set New Guinness World Records in Acrobatics
LAS VEGAS, NV (USA) – Las Vegas (NV) resident Jesus “Half Animal” Villa and Los Angeles (CA) resident Terrance Harrison will perform two Guinness World Record attempts; one for the most consecutive 90 degree push-ups and the other for the most consecutive back handsprings.
The event will take place on September 18, 2010, at 2:00pm (PDT) at the Las Vegas Bill & Lillie Heinrich YMCA. Doors will open for the public at 1:00pm (PDT). Team Half Animal founder, Jesus “Half Animal” Villa, will take a shot at breaking the record for the most consecutive 90 degree push-ups, also known as straight presses. Using extraordinary strength and balance, he will start with a handstand position and lower himself to a horizontal push-up position without ever letting his feet or body touch the ground. His aim is to perform fourteen consecutive 90- degree push-ups, allowing him to break the current record of twelve. On the same day, team member and world-class acrobat Terrance Harrison will make his attempt at breaking the record for the most consecutive back handsprings, breaking the current record of twenty-five.
“The goal behind Team Half Animal is to set examples of determination, focus, and hard work,” explains Jesus Villa, founder and acrobat. “With these new records, we hope to show kids that anything is possible, even the most seemingly impossible feats. We want to establish Team Half Animal as the number one motivational crew in America and continue touring, inspiring and sharing our life changing experiences around the world. As we say, “The power is in your choice. Make that choice Team Half Animal!””
This will be the third Guinness World Record attempt for Mr. Villa. He currently holds the Guinness World Records for being the only man ever to perform a double back flip on jumping stilts (2002) and another set in 2007 for performing nineteen body-straight jumping stilts back flips, also known as “whips,” across one hundred yards.
